01 · Why KnorrTec
Vier Gründe, warum KnorrTec der richtige Partner für Ihre Förderanlagen-Verbindungen ist.
As a custom cable assembler — not a distributor — we bring the technical expertise that's essential for extensive, far-reaching cabling in conveyor and sorting systems. We don't supply standard off-the-shelf goods; we develop the connection that fits your system.
Technical consultation in advance
Before we start production, we clarify your requirements together — system type, cable routing, ambient conditions, protection rating. This way, the cable set fits right the first time.
Custom assembly from quantity 1
No minimum order quantity. Exactly your length, your connector, your labeling — from a prototype for the first conveyor line to series production for the entire system.
Manufacturer-independent
Compatible with all common conveyor and sorting systems. We know the standard connection interfaces on the market and supply the right connection — regardless of your system's manufacturer.
Tested quality
Every custom-assembled cable is 100% electrically tested. Connectors with protection ratings up to IP69K for use in warehouses and logistics centers — with a test report on request.
02 · Technical Requirements
What cables in conveyor and sorting systems need to deliver.
Conveyor and sorting systems demand one thing from their cabling above all: reliability across long distances and numerous connection points. Knowing these requirements is what enables the right choice of cable material — and that's the consulting expertise KnorrTec brings to the table.
Long cable routes
There are often several hundred meters between the central control system and the decentralized sensors at the end of the line. We custom-assemble cables in exactly the length required.
Robust IP protection ratings
Dust, dirt, and washdown water in warehouses and logistics centers require connectors and housings with adequate protection ratings — matched to the installation situation.
Fast connectors
Downtime costs real money in sorting systems. Pluggable, uniquely coded connections enable fast component replacement during service — without the risk of incorrect wiring.
Decentralized I/O cabling
Numerous sensors and actuators are positioned along every conveyor line. We custom-assemble the matching I/O cables for each individual connection point — cleanly documented and traceable.
Cable-carrier cables
Moving conveyor sections and stacker cranes require cables that withstand millions of flex cycles in the cable carrier without breaking — fine-wire stranded to Class 5/6.
EMC shielding
Many drive cables routed in parallel generate interference fields. Braided shields keep the signal quality of sensor and bus signals stable even with dense cable routing.
“No conveyor belt runs reliably on its own. Every connection we deliver has been discussed with you beforehand.”
KnorrTec — cable assembler, not a distributor.
03 · Made-to-Measure Assembly
From requirement to finished cable — starting at a single piece.
We are not a catalog supplier. Every cable we deliver was specified together with you and manufactured at our facility in Beratzhausen. That's the difference between a connection that holds — and one that fails.
Inquiry & Consultation
You describe your requirements: system type, cable routing, environment, cycle rates. We ask the right questions — and together we find the optimal cable specification.
Technical specification
Our team determines conductor cross-section, flex class, shielding design, sheath material, connector, and protection rating — documented as a drawing for your records.
Assembly
We manufacture at our facility in Beratzhausen — exactly your length, your connector, your labeling. From a single unit to series production, using the same materials and processes.
Testing & Delivery
Every cable is electrically tested. Delivered with a test report — on request with labeling and set packaging for direct installation on the conveyor line.

04 · Applications
Three conveyor system areas — one source.
Whether it's a roller conveyor, a high-throughput sorting system, or a stacker crane with long travel paths — we know the specific cable requirements of each area and deliver the right custom assembly.

B.01
Roller conveyors & belt systems
Roller conveyors and belt systems transport goods over long distances — every drive station and every sensor needs a reliable, precisely sized connection to the central control system.
- Drive cables for roller and drum motors
- Sensor cables (M8/M12) for photoelectric sensors
- System cabling: control cabinet → field level
- Custom assembly to exact line length

B.02
Sorting systems
In distribution centers and parcel logistics, cabling determines the availability of the entire system — with high cycle rates and numerous parallel actuators, not a single connection can be allowed to fail.
- Cabling for switches, pushers, and distribution elements
- Profinet/Profibus connection of decentralized modules
- IO-Link cables for intelligent sensor technology
- Quick-change connectors

B.03
Stacker cranes
Stacker cranes travel long distances in narrow aisles — the cable-carrier cable is the most critical component of the entire cabling system.
- Cable-carrier cables for lifting and travel axes
- Encoder cables for position sensing
- Cable-carrier-compatible system cabling
- Custom assembly to individual travel-path length

08 · Frequently Asked Questions
To custom cable assembly for conveyor & sorting systems.
From what quantity does KnorrTec produce custom cable assemblies?
From a single piece. There is no minimum order quantity. Whether it's a prototype for the first conveyor line, a replacement cable for an existing system, or series production for an entire sorting system — we manufacture in the quantity you need, with no surcharge for small batch sizes.
What does “technical consultation upfront” mean in practice?
Before we start production, we clarify together: What type of system, what cable routes, what ambient conditions (dust, moisture, IP requirements)? How many decentralized connection points are there along the line? This conversation ensures that the cabling on first use fits — and doesn't need to be replaced after just a few months of operation.
How long does a custom assembly take?
You will receive technical feedback and a quote within 24 hours after your inquiry. Prototypes are typically available in 1–2 weeks available. Series production depending on scope and material availability on request — we communicate delivery dates transparently and reliably.
For which conveyor and sorting system manufacturers does KnorrTec supply compatible cables?
We assemble manufacturer-independent for all common conveyor and sorting systems. Since we're not tied to any particular brand, we can also develop solutions for less common or older systems — simply state the system type and connection standard in your inquiry.
When does a conveyor line need cable-carrier cables instead of standard system cabling?
Wherever a cable section moves — for example on stacker cranes, mobile transfer stations, or lifting axes — a cable-carrier cable with fine-wire strands to Class 5/6 is required. Fixed, stationary line sections, on the other hand, can be handled with standard system cabling. We advise on which cable class is right for which section of your system.
